| I read the book a few years after seeing this movie, and hate the book! It is dark, depressing, morbid! BORING! The film: Practical Magic on the other hand, is witty, charming and adorable! It seems that people who read the book first, love the book. Those who saw the Practical Magic movie first, the love of the movie! I have not found someone who loves so much. I saw this Practical Magic movie when it first came out! LOVED IT! However, the DVD and VHS versions are not complete. Too much has been removed compared to what I saw in the theater! Let me know ... I saw a total of 13 times in different theaters! I'm still waiting for the full version !!!!! I asked politely, and have not yet received! What's a birthday in 10 cinemas and special DVD! My thought is, watch the Practical Magic movie ... forget the book ... and lets hope for a sequel! SANDRA, work their magic and make another ... please! And when it comes out on DVD (or any means of display is next), make it the theatrical version! |
| It seems that the director Griffith Dunne tried to keep this DivX film Practical Magic from being as powerful as it might have been. The DVD film Practical Magic fails to fully develop the city fears bruges (missing only a little), full of feeling "something is wrong in this way," with Jimmy (although the script lets them get away with it), and connection between the magic of love Sally and Gary. Some small changes, such as background music for more support, would have made these points of support and lighter counterpoint to the film. Bullock and Kidman are very good as the central characters, very different as credible but-bonded sisters. Kidman is a little too congested, sometimes a witch to be credible, but this characterization is well enough in context. Channing (who seldom enjoyed) and Wiest is excellent in the main support functions, surpassed only by Webb and Wood (Sally daughters) to show their skills by * not * potentially cutesy overacting their duties. Instead, they do a great job in pointing out the variations of his mother and aunt Gilly. Overall, I think most aspects of management and production could have used a version of better quality. Still, the Practical Magic film is very pleasant and worth seeing again some time. |
| I saw this Practical Magic Romance movie for the first time years ago when I was very young. I have seen again recently, and I would say that I liked how the subject (witchcraft), was presented and used. Mixing elements of traditional and modern, natural and supernatural, the thriller, but it is romantic, including witches and ordinary people, in connection with the past and present. This variety of features, in my view, the biggest "plus" of the film, along with the satisfaction of the actions of S. Bullock, N. Kidman, S. Channing, D. Wiest. "Useful Magic" is a must for lovers of the paranormal, or for people looking for a drop of everything: fantasy, love, excitement, suspense ... in this interesting mix of G. Dunne. |
| A couple of months before Practical Magic came out in theaters, I read the novel is based on Alice Hoffman, and loved him. So when I went to see 'Practical Magic' from the movie, I did not know what to expect, since most of the adjustments to the books and films are very different disappointing. But while this was very different from the novel, I was pleasantly surprised. "Practical Magic" is not your average romantic comedy or the average Practical Magic Romance bruges. Instead, mix together 2 sparkling genres and creates a DivX Movie Practical Magic that is never boring. While some scenes are a bit exaggerated, performance, relationships and history getting too weird. As for the casting, I do not think it gets much better. Sandra Bullock plays quite as usual, but she plays with a sensitivity well acted and definitely sypathize for her. Nicole Kidman is great - very wild-child, but not trampy so that their hatred - and probably the most interesting (and the best performance) throughout the film. Dianne Weist and Stockard Channing are well cast as the eccentric aunt, and his presence on screen is impressive. Aidan Quinn is also very good, playing Sandra Bullock in "perfect man." So what is my vision of the 'Practical Magic'? Excellent. Of course, it is not flawless, Oscar-worthy masterpiece, but it's fun and one of the most interesting films I've seen in a long time. Therefore If you are looking for a well-acted, well written, unique film, I definitely recommend "Practical Magic." And do not forget to read the book! |
| Well it will not make the Oscar line, but so. This is simply a fun, feel good, happy movie. Nothing more, nothing less. I could not tell whether the movie: Practical Magic was a love story, a comedy or horror story, but that was why it was fun because I was a little bit of everything. You need to alleviate the criticism up. There are many more serious films there for you to bash. Leave this one! |
| I got it on tape, however, whenever I see is that it shows once again I get a little happier! Granted it is not for everyone - men do not like, people who lack a bit of reality in his films do not like either. And both my mother and I think I am a little nuts (though they do like the house - not just the magic of Mumbo Jumbo - and find the villain too dark and disturbing. (Is not that what a villain should be ?) But for me, is charming, very charming. Obviously, the cast of women who had a blast, and it makes me wish I had a house full of female relatives of midnight margaritas. | I absolutely love this story and the problems of this bruges / born with talent. I love this film: Practical Magic so much for so many years that I completely forgot the bay from my own DVD / VHS. i at this time there are only big problem in the bay where my own lokaded DVD / VHS. my o my this is a beautiful, full of feeling and watch film. It really has absolutely is my recommendation. And it is in reality based on facts considered magic. And the responsibility for this infect the next generation. I love this movie, and have not arrived yet. actresses are doing a great job is expressed in characters. Above all, this Practical Magic movie can be seen with small (8-) children too, because its fun and friendly. MORAL has the goodness, the awareness of the cruelty that would not only now nothing.
